Network Of Grassroots Groups Protecting Wildlands

Fund for Wild Nature (FWN) provides support for a network of the boldest and most effective grassroots groups working to protect wildlife and wild places throughout North America. The need for support for these groups is particularly urgent now amid the intensified attacks on nature and public lands under the Trump administration and a hostile Congress.

Examples of a few recent accomplishments include a victory for the Alliance for the Wild Rockies who succeeded in fighting the Forest Service to cancel a massive clearcutting and logging project in endangered lynx habitat on Custer-Gallatin National Forest near Yellowstone. Another partner, Conservation Congress won its lawsuit against a massive logging project in occupied spotted owl habitat on Mendocino National Forest in Northern California.

LDF support is helping FWN to increase their capacity to support local, on the ground grassroots groups that are on the frontlines. The need for support for these groups is particularly urgent now amid the intensified attacks on nature and public lands under the Trump administration and a hostile Congress.
